A 35-year-old Russian woman spent the last 4 years growing her fingernails, to win a bet against a friend who said she couldn’t do it.

Elena Shilenkova who grew her ‘babies’ to 12cm (4.7 inches) long in order to win the bet, reportedly refused to swim in the sea, play tennis or wear gloves despite Russia’s freezing temperatures – all to protect her talons, which she refers to as her ‘babies’.

The YouTuber from Saint Petersburg who broke a record by growing Russia’s longest nails, further explained how it’s not a breeze growing your claws to award-winning status.

“My nails are now the longest I have had, I have been growing them for four years and three months.

“It started over a bet with my friend, and now everyone is just used to my ‘long nail’ status.“I call them ‘my babies’, as they are four years old and I take care of them as I would do with babies.”

The Russian woman who spent four years growing her nails, also disclosed that she did face any difficulties in her everyday life. According to her, she had long nails since her teenage years but is now racked with the constant fear one might break – and often has nightmares she will wake up with short talons.

Elena said: “I don’t have any problems with the things I do daily, I just do some things in a different way than most people.

“For example, I would say that my way of typing is a little bit different.

“I just need to constantly control all my movements.

“I have to think beforehand about all my actions and movements and try to avoid sharp movements and ‘behave’ softly – sharp movements are my enemy.

“I am most worried about breaking the nails in my sleep and I often have nightmares that I wake up with short nails.

“The dreams are quite real so I wake up in panic and check closely my nails to make sure they are alright.

“I am afraid to break them as I would have to waste my time on fixing them – they do break sometimes but I always fix them.

“Total control helps – I also take vitamin pills for nails and hair every six months.

“I would love to swim or play tennis.

“Also, I miss gloves –it can be quite cold in Russia and I have to put my hands in MY pockets” she said.

The woman who spent 4 years growing her fingernails, further disclosed that when it comes to people’s reactions on the street, there are as many positive as negative comments – especially from older people.

Very few men would marry a 35+ woman when we live in a highly hypergamous (act of marrying someone wealthier than you) society. There are plenty of young and hot beautiful women ready to settle into a marriage where they play the second fiddle as long as the man provides.

It is good to be ambitious, even better to break the stupid glass ceilings, but at what price? Bottom line, at some point, you will need a man in your life. My experience of having observed women 30+ has proven that they mostly live a life full of regrets.

1. She values education and career over marriage and relationship. She's always throwing statements like "Marriage isn't an achievement"
2. At age 30+ she has more liquor in her refrigerator than fruits and vegetables.
3. She can take down more shots than any of her peers at 30+ who have kids
4. She’s into smoking cigarettes and addicted to weed.
5. Her idea of fun at age 30+ is a night out with the girls.
6. At age 30+ she still insists on only dating men based on what their career is. "He's a lawyer" "He's a doctor" "He's an engineer"
7. The idea of cooking for a man is a total turn-off to her.
8. She has never forgiven her father for abusing her mother, or her first boyfriend used to abuse her and she now thinks every man is violent and controlling.
9. She is so much into fashion, and hair-styling she doesn't want to be identified as being old in her circles
10. Her job involves a lot of travelling.
11. She can easily find a parking spot at Taboo than her way to church.
12. She believes in absolute equality in marriage without any sacrifice or compromise.

A Funeral That Turned Into A Resurrection

Funerals are generally sombre as it represents the loss, interment and the final goodbye to a relative or loved one.

In a funeral that was being held in a village in Sibu Sire district in the central Oromia region in Ethiopia, an unusual event occured as the deceased ‘came back to life.’

Hirpha Negero, a father of five, was pronounced dead on Tuesday and to following the tradition of the people in that region, a gun was shot twice to announce his death and announce his funeral.

The vilage undertaker put Negero in a coffin in preparation for his burial later in the day but during the interment, what appeared to be knocking was heard coming from the coffin and people took to their heels.

According to the undertaker Mr Etana, “People were shocked and ran away, I couldn’t get anyone to help me.” He added that when he opened the coffin, Mr Hirpha needed help getting out.

Mr Hirpha narrated his experience while in the coffin, “I heard someone crying. I was suffocating and trying to tear away the shroud. I was so weak, unable to speak out.” and then he weakly asked “Is there anybody around?”

After the initial shock, the funeral turned into a celebration as the deceased has resurrected from the dead.

The undertaker, Mr Etana who is also Mr Hirpha’s uncle, said: “I have buried more than 50 or 60 bodies. I have never anything seen like this before. He seemed to be dead.”

According to an interview with the BBC, Mr Hirpha said he had had visions when he was unconscious of “a beautiful green place” where a man dressed in white told him to “go back”.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, for the first time, yesterday spoke on his relationship with  his former deputy, Ahmed Aliyu, who resigned two weeks ago.

While swearing in the new deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Manir Dan’iya, Tambuwal said he and Aliyu had a wonderful working relationship.

The governor maintained that the former deputy governor resigned voluntarily. He thanked Aliyu for his services to the state.

Tambuwal also urged the newly appointed deputy governor to maintain “his good character of loyalty, trustworthiness and steadfastness” in the execution of his duties.

He lauded the cordial relationship between the three arms of government in the state.

The governor also expressed appreciation to members of the state House of Assembly for expediting the screening and confirmation of the new deputy governor.

He lauded PDP supporters in the state and urged them to campaign vigorously for the success of the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji  Atiku Abubakar, assuring that the PDP government would be truly democratic.

The Unbelievable Story of 7-Year-Old Boy Who Sleeps, Bathes and Plays With Deadly Snakes

The story has been told of the boy who sleeps, bathes and plays with deadly snakes which surround him always.

Devesh Adivasi, a 7-year-old boy from rural Madhya Pradesh, in central India, has some very unusual best friends. For the past four years, he has been going into the jungle near his village and coming back with all kinds of snakes, some of them poisonous, that he plays, bathes and eats with. So far, he hasn’t been bitten once.

The boy’s family says that his fascination with snakes started when he was 3 years old, after dreaming about the slithering reptiles one night. Next morning, he told his parents about it, but they didn’t think much of it until they saw him running into the jungle near their village and later coming out with two snakes in hand.

The reptiles slithered all over his body, but they didn’t bite him. Since that day, Devesh has been going into the jungle almost every day and bringing back new friends to play with. He keeps them for a few days, bathes and sleeps with them, massages them with oil and then releases them back into the jungle.

“We have tried everything to keep him away from the snakes,” the boy’s father, Ragunath, told Story Trender. “We have explained that snakes are not meant to be friends. It is dangerous but he doesn’t listen to us.

After seeing Devesh playing with snakes for four years, most of the villagers aren’t surprised to see him surrounded by his slithering friends. They know that snakes don’t harm him, but they are reluctant to let their kids go anywhere near him when the reptiles are around. The boy’s parents claim that he currently has around 15 snake friends that he casually brings out of the jungle, including cobras.

Dr MPN Khare, a general surgeon at a district hospital in Madhya Pradesh, told Caters News that Devesh’s friendship with the snakes is bizarre, and added that it can be dangerous for both his physical and mental health.

“Whether poisonous or not, snakes are not meant to be pets. And a child playing with a snake, feeding it and sleeping with it can be very dangerous for his mental health,” Khare said. “Even if these snakes haven’t bitten him yet, it is very much possible the snakes might bite him someday while he plays with them. It can install a fear that can affect him psychologically.”

Prostitution: Ghanaian Police Arrest 41 Nigerian Prostitutes

The Weija District Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested 41 Nigerian prostitutes, as well as 14 male clients.

According to online Ghanian newspaper, ghanaweb.com, the prostitutes were arrested around a place called Choice, where several pubs operate at night.

Chief Inspector Diana Tei Eninful, who led the arrest, said the police had received several reports from residents of the area about the nuisance activities of the prostitutes.



The residents also lamented that the prostitutes had turned the vicinity into a haven for drug peddlers and armed robbers.

Based on the complaints, Eninful said the the police laid surveillance and subsequently arrested 41 prostitutes, most of whom were between 18 and 25 years.

She said the prostitutes sometimes intentionally hoot at and accuse passersby of refusing to pay them after allegedly having enjoyed their coital services, and so pounce on such clients with the help of their gangs of pimps – a situation she said had brought insecurity to the whole neighbourhood.

The report added that 14 male clients were arrested alongside the prostitutes by the police for allegedly soliciting.
